What is a Free Verse? : All You Need to Know

  Introduction Hello! My name is Arastu Goyal and in this article, we will be talking about how to write free verse poetry. As you may know that there are hundreds if not a thousand types of poetry, going from Limericks ,  Haikus  to Free Verse poetry. Basically, free-verse poems are poems that don't follow a traditional structure, rhyme or meter, thus they are called free-verse  poetry.  When I started out with writing poetry, the first poem I ever wrote was a free verse! At that time I did not know much about poetry myself so this was a great way to start! How to write one? To write a free-verse, you can write them about anything ! These can be put in any way, you can rhyme if you want to but I wont recommend it as it may distract you a little from actually putting out the message of your poem. How to Write a Haiku: For Beginners

Introduction Hello my name is Arastu Goyal, today we'll talk about how to write haikus! A haiku is a 3 lined poem originating from Japan in which none of the three lines can rhyme. These poems are mainly focused on one specific scene, usually written about nature.   Wind and Leaves Leaf falling in pond Moves with wind drifting downwards Slowly rows, leaf boats -Arastu G. Steps Think of a scene As I said before, these focus on specific scenes, in the example I provided here my scene was- A leaf falling in a pond very slowly and then drifting in the water here and there Syllables Perhaps the most important bit of this blog, the syllable count! A traditional haiku has 17 syllable  (5-7-5). If you want to, feel free to experiment but remember that poets will classify that as an  experimental piece but not a traditional Haiku.
